Mary Harvey stumbled upon jewelry-making quite by accident
Being a stay-at-home mom with 2 small children, and doing the books for her husband’s business, she felt the need to be creative. Easier said than done. She tried all sorts of crafts, but found that she didn’t excel at any of them. Then one day while surfing the internet, she found a site selling wire wrapped jewelry. She was intrigued. She bought some tools and supplies and started playing with the wire. Being a person who loves to learn, she searched the internet, bought books and videos, and learned as much as she could about the art. After lots of practice, her own style began to emerge in the pieces she created.
After 5 years of doing shows and selling on the internet, she feels that she finally found the one thing that she is really good at. And she has never looked back.
In addition to creating beautiful pieces of jewelry, Mary also enjoys riding her horse, gardening, and flying with her husband and the kids in one of their two vintage aircraft, a 1948 Piper PA-15 Vagabond, and a 1946 Stinson 108-1, both of which were expertly restored by her husband Bob. Mary and Bob own Black Otter Airport and AFS Service in Hortonville, WI.
